Spring 2012 Club

            SPORT CLUBS

Sport Clubs are organizations that give students the opportunity to play their favorite sport at a competitive level. The main differences between a Division I (NCAA) program and a sport club team is the level of funding, there is no formal recruiting and we do not have full time coaches. As a sport club, the team receives a limited annual budget from student fee allocations and generates most of their operating budget from dues and fundraising activities. Participating on a sport club team is a good way to keep that competitive edge and have fun at the same time.

            GETTING INVOLVED

The women's volleyball club has our organizational meeting in the first week of Fall semester. You can also find us at the Involvement Expo held at the beginning of each semester. We hold open gyms followed by open tryouts. Everyone is invited to tryout and we generally carry two teams of 9-10 players each. We practice 3 times a week in the evenings.

            TRAVEL/COMPETITION

This past school year we traveled to Duluth, MN for a Northwest Regional tournament as well as Las Vegas, NV and Davis, CA  for ranking tournaments. We also competed at Nationals in Dallas, TX. We hosted our own tournament bringing in teams from UNC, DU, CU, CU-Denver, CSM, and University of Wyoming.
